Der Messestand, an dem Tony Soprano in der Schlussszene von „The Sopranos“ mit seiner Familie saß, wurde gerade versteigert … und jemand zahlte einen fünfstelligen Betrag.
Tonys Stand ist seit Jahren eine Touristenattraktion in Holsten’s Ice Cream Parlour in Broomfield, New Jersey … aber der Laden muss renoviert werden und der Messestand musste … an den Meistbietenden vergeben werden.
Holsten’s hat die berühmten Möbel – einen Ständer, einen Tisch, eine Trennwand und eine personalisierte Plakette, die Sitzplätze für die Sopranos-Familie reserviert – letzte Woche bei eBay mit einem Eröffnungsgebot von 3.000 US-Dollar eingestellt … und es kam zu einem Bietergefecht. Es folgte eine Totalauktion.
Als sich am Montag der Staub legte, endete die Auktion und der Stand wurde für 82.600 US-Dollar verkauft … mehr als genug, um die Kosten für Holstens bevorstehende Renovierungsarbeiten für neue Böden und Stände zu decken.
Für die 82.000 US-Dollar nicht im Preis enthalten…die Jukebox. Tony gibt einen Vierteldollar ab, um den klassischen Journey-Song „Don’t Stop Believin’“ zu spielen, während er Zwiebelringe bestellt und darauf wartet, dass seine Frau, sein Sohn und seine Tochter zu ihm in die Tribüne kommen.
Die Jukebox wurde vom Filmteam hinzugefügt … und nach der Show brachte Holsten eine Plakette mit der Aufschrift „DIESER STAND FÜR DIE SOPRANO-FAMILIE RESERVIERT“ an.
Seit dem Finale und seinem schwarzen offenen Schnitt ist Holsten’s ein Ziel für „Sopranos“-Fans, die zu Tonys letztem bekannten Aufenthaltsort pilgern … doch die Abnutzung im Laufe der Jahre zwang die Eisdiele, das Stück zu verkaufen. der Fernsehgeschichte.
Wie Holsten erklärt… „Bitte haben Sie Verständnis dafür, dass wir das nicht tun wollen. Aber die Integrität der Stände ist jetzt gefährdet. Sie wurden mehrmals repariert und diese Möbel sind über 60 Jahre alt. Das wollen wir natürlich nicht.“ Um das zu erreichen, sind wir an einem Punkt angelangt, an dem sie insgesamt nicht mehr strukturell sicher sind und wir müssen zuerst an die Sicherheit unserer Kunden denken.“
Die Eisdiele sagt, dass sie ein dringend benötigtes Facelift bekommt, aber die Dinge werden die gleichen sein wie bei der Ankunft der Sopranos.
Wir wissen nicht, wer den Stand gekauft hat … aber wir bezweifeln ernsthaft, dass sie mit einem Umschlag voller Bargeld bezahlt haben.
