Michael JacksonIn seinem Nachlass hieß es „BS“ wegen einer bevorstehenden Versteigerung einer „Thriller“-Jacke … Die Behauptung, dass die Versteigerung stattgefunden habe, macht nicht klar, dass MJ sie in dem legendären Musikvideo nie tatsächlich getragen hat.
In einem Brief, der am Dienstag an Gotta Have Rock and Roll, das Auktionshaus und den Anwalt des Nachlasses geschickt wurde, Jonathan Steinsapirstellt unmissverständlich fest, dass die zum Verkauf stehende Jacke zu keinem Zeitpunkt während der Produktion des Kurzfilms „Thriller“ auf Michaels Rücken war.
Jonathan schreibt, dass im Film nur zwei echte „Thriller“-Jacken getragen wurden und eine davon vor mehr als einem Jahrzehnt für fast 2 Millionen US-Dollar versteigert wurde. 20-mal mehr als das von GHRR geforderte Mindestgebot für ihre Jacke.
Das Jackson Estate ist auch sehr besorgt über die GHRR-Auflistung, da dies die Öffentlichkeit zu der Annahme verleiten könnte, dass die echte „Thriller“-Jacke erheblich an Wert verloren hat – und dies könnte sich negativ auf die Marke des Jackson Estate und den Wert anderer auswirken Persönliche Sachen.
Obwohl das Anwesen anerkennt, dass GHRR in der Auktionsbeschreibung klargestellt hat, dass die Jacke „während des Musikvideos „Thriller“ nicht getragen wurde“, verlangt es, dass das Auktionshaus diese Tatsache im Auktionstitel deutlicher hervorhebt, und gibt an, dass dies nicht der Fall ist Beweis dafür, dass Michael diese spezielle Jacke jemals zu Werbezwecken getragen hat.
Und es scheint, dass die GHRR sich angeschlossen hat.
Seit dem Absenden des Briefes hat der Titel der Auktion das Wort „Stil“ hinzugefügt … und lautet nun: „Michael Jackson 1983 Owned & Worn Thriller Style Jacket.“
In der Beschreibung heißt es jetzt auch… „Die Jacke ähnelt der Jacke, die im ‚Thriller‘-Video getragen wird“ – aber für den durchschnittlichen MJ-Superfan ist es immer noch ein Anblick, der einem fast das Herz reißt!
