Jennifer Tran wurde als erste asiatisch-amerikanische „Bachelorette“ in der Fernsehgeschichte ausgewählt – etwas, auf dessen Verwirklichung die erste afroamerikanische „Bachelorette“ unglaublich stolz ist.
Rachel Lindsay – die 2017 als erste schwarze Hauptdarstellerin in der „Bachelorette“-Reihe Geschichte schrieb – sagte gegenüber TMZ, dass sie über die Ankündigung mehr als begeistert sei … denn aus ihrer Sicht sei es mehr als bedeutungsvoll und notwendig, dass die Serie einen Asiaten an der Spitze hat.
Allerdings gratuliert Rachel ABC nicht gerade – sie weist darauf hin, dass es über 20 Jahre gedauert hat, bis dies geschah, und treibt indirekt die Idee voran, dass wahre Liebe nur in eine Richtung schauen kann.
Sie sagt: „Liebe ist umfassend und es ist an der Zeit, dass sie die asiatische Repräsentation widerspiegelt.“
Rachel fügt hinzu: „Ich freue mich so sehr, dass die jungen Mädchen und Frauen, die sich auf der Leinwand sehen, angebetet und verehrt werden. Sie alle verdienen diesen Moment und diese Liebe. Ich hoffe zutiefst, dass das Franchise Jenn nicht nur um jeden Preis beschützt, sondern es auch tun wird.“ Erlauben Sie ihr, sich vollständig als asiatische Frau darzustellen.
Jenn selbst sagte, sie sei dankbar für die Gelegenheit … und fügte hinzu, dass sie das Gefühl habe, dass die asiatische Repräsentation im Fernsehen mangele und hauptsächlich dazu genutzt werde, stereotype Nebenrollen zu übernehmen.
Aber jetzt steht Jenn als Hauptfigur im Mittelpunkt … und ihre Reise auf der Suche nach der Liebe wird bald beginnen. Wir sind sicher, dass sich „Bachelor“ Nation auf jeden Moment freuen wird!
