Dolph Lundgrenist nicht dagegen, eine ikonische Figur neu zu besetzen – und den Fans zu sagen, sie sollen etwas geben David CorenswetSuperman hat eine Chance … auch wenn er nicht ganz sicher ist, wer er ist.
Wir sprachen am Freitag in Los Angeles mit dem Actionstar und fragten ihn nach dem Ende des DC-Universums – „Memba, Dolph spielte die Rolle von König Nereus in den ‚Aquaman‘-Filmen – und er sagte, er sei traurig, dass es so enden würde der Zeit, die er mit der Arbeit an dem Film verbrachte.
DL nennt einige seiner Co-Stars aus dem Film, bevor er zu der ihn umgebenden Empörung übergeht. Henry Cavill als Superman für Corenswet aufgegeben werden.
Lundgren sagt, er kenne David nicht – weder beim Namen noch beim Ruf –, aber er sagt, die Fans heben immer die Arme, wenn einer ihrer Lieblingscharaktere am Ende von jemand anderem gespielt wird … und sie müssen ihm eine Chance geben. Chance, deine Superheldenmuskeln spielen zu lassen.
Es scheint, dass Dolph mit Corenswets Arbeit nicht sehr vertraut ist – und doch äußert er sich hier sehr positiv und sagt, dass er DCs neuen Man of Steel unterstützt … was ziemlich großartig ist.
Allerdings ist sich Dolph ganz klar darüber im Klaren, dass es eine Figur gibt, die er nicht neu besetzen möchte: Apollo Creed, gespielt vom verstorbenen Star Carl Weathers.
Lundgren – der in „Rocky IV“ den sowjetischen Boxer Ivan Drago spielte und im Film gegen Creed kämpfte – sagt, niemand könne Carl ersetzen. Was Superman angeht, aber … haben Sie es, sagt er.
