Der Sheriff der Gegend, in der sich der 13-Jährige aufhielt Madeleine Soto „Missing and Dead“ steht unter Beschuss, weil es offenbar ein Tatortfoto veröffentlicht hat, und jetzt entschuldigt sich die Abteilung.
Dieses Debakel ereignet sich in Osceola County, Florida, wo Madelines Leiche am Freitag von Beamten in einem Waldgebiet entdeckt wurde, nachdem sie letzte Woche aus ihrem Haus im benachbarten Orange County verschwunden war.
Am Samstag – einen Tag nachdem Madeline tot aufgefunden wurde – wurde ein Foto menschlicher Überreste veröffentlicht hätte Gepostet auf dem offiziellen Instagram-Konto des Sheriffs von Osceola County Marcos Lopez. Das Foto, bei dem es sich vermutlich um ein vertrauliches Bild vom Tatort handelt und das inzwischen gelöscht wurde, zeigt angeblich eine Leiche, die Madelines Beschreibung entspricht und tot auf dem Boden liegt.
Jetzt benachrichtigt das Sheriffbüro des Osceola County die örtlichen Behörden Medien Das Foto wurde versehentlich in einen Artikel über eine Gemeinschaftsveranstaltung für Senioren aufgenommen. Sie fügen hinzu… „Wir entschuldigen uns zutiefst für etwaige Verwirrung oder Störungen, die dadurch verursacht wurden.“
Das Büro des Sheriffs bestätigt oder dementiert das Foto, auf dem Madelines Leiche zu sehen ist.
Irgendwie wird das Ganze für das Sheriff-Büro des Osceola County noch schlimmer … denn am selben Morgen, als Sotos angebliches Foto auf IG gepostet wurde, teilte ein anderes Mitglied des Sheriff-Büros ein Selfie mit ihm Stéphane Sternsder Freund von Madelines Mutter … und Hauptverdächtiger in ihrem Verschwinden und Tod, der inzwischen in Polizeigewahrsam genommen wurde.
Nirva Rodriguez, die OCSD-Geschäftsführerin, teilte das Bild auf ihrer persönlichen Facebook-Seite … es zeigt Sterns, wie er in Handschellen aus einem Gebäude geführt wird. Sie hätte ihren Job bekommen … „Wenn Gottes Liebe in Ihrem Leben ausgeschüttet wurde, lassen Sie sich nicht vom Bösen von dem abhalten, was Er für Sie vorbereitet hat.“ Es ist unklar, welche Absicht hinter der Nachricht/dem Beitrag steckte.
Unabhängig davon wurde das Selfie angeblich aufgenommen, nachdem Sterns wegen Kinderpornografie und sexuellem Kindesmissbrauch inhaftiert war.

Die Strafverfolgungsbehörden haben diese Anschuldigungen noch nicht konkret mit Madelines Fall in Verbindung gebracht … noch haben sie ihn offiziell wegen ihres Verschwindens oder Todes angeklagt. Er hat noch keinen Einspruch eingereicht.
Rodriguez‘ Facebook-Beitrag mit Sterns wurde ebenfalls gelöscht, FWIW … und es ist erwähnenswert, dass sie bei OCSD mehrere Abteilungen leitet, darunter Medien, Öffentlichkeitsarbeit und gemeinnützige Dienste.
Während mehrere Strafverfolgungsbehörden an der Suche nach Madeline und der Verhaftung von Sterns beteiligt waren, hat die Polizei von Kissimmee nun die Aufgabe, den Tod und das Verschwinden des Teenagers zu untersuchen. Und das Gesetz von Florida verbietet generell die Veröffentlichung von Fotos, die den Mord an einem Minderjährigen zeigen, ohne die Erlaubnis des Teenagers überlebende Familie.
