Jason KelceDie NFL-Karriere in der NFL ist vorbei.
Der Superstar der Philadelphia Eagles hat gerade bekannt gegeben, dass er offiziell in den Ruhestand geht… und erklärte während einer emotionalen Pressekonferenz am Montagnachmittag, dass er fertig sei.
Jason brach in Tränen aus, als er diese Ankündigung machte. Tatsächlich liefen ihm Tränen über das Gesicht, bevor er bei der Veranstaltung überhaupt zu sprechen begann. Während seiner Rede brauchte er mehrmals Pausen, um sich zu sammeln.
Viele Familienangehörige und Freunde kamen, um dem 36-Jährigen beizuwohnen, um sich zu verabschieden… darunter auch Travis Kelce.
Jason gab sein Debüt in der Liga im Jahr 2011, als die Eagles ihn in der sechsten Runde des NFL Draft holten. Er spielte in dieser Saison weiterhin in jedem Spiel für Philadelphia – und drei Jahre später, im Jahr 2014, wurde er zum ersten Mal in die Pro Bowl gewählt.
Jason schaffte es noch sechs Mal in den Pro Bowl, während er insgesamt sechs Mal All-Pro-Auszeichnungen verbuchte.
Im Jahr 2018 gewann er seinen ersten Super Bowl, indem er den Birds zum Sieg verhalf Tom Brady und die Patrioten. Jason hätte 2023 beinahe einen weiteren SB-Sieg errungen, aber sein jüngerer Bruder und die Chiefs siegten in einem epischen Duell.
Während Jason in fast allen seiner 13 Saisons ein Star auf dem Feld war, explodierte seine Karriere außerhalb des Feldes in der letzten Saison wirklich.
Nachdem Travis angefangen hatte, sich zu verabreden Taylor Swift, der „New Heights“-Podcast des Duos startete durch. Während der Abwesenheit der Eagles hatte Jason auch viel mehr Kamerazeit bei verschiedenen Sendern.
Viele gehen davon aus, dass Jasons nächster Schritt eine Sendekabine sein wird – aber vorerst wird es eine wohlverdiente Feier seiner Karriere in der Hall of Fame sein.
